COVID-19 Information
We are delighted to be able to welcome guests back to Old Radnor Barn Bed and Breakfast and want to make your stay as safe and pleasant as possible.

The Welsh Government has announced that self-contained properties are allowed to take guests from 11th July onwards but only subject to certain conditions being met. We have been issued with guidelines and protocols that outline new cleaning and safety requirements however, we are having to apply an additional £10 per room (1-2 guests) and £15 per room (3+ guests).

In response we have:

      *    Prepared a full Risk Assessment for all our rooms.
      *    Prepared a thorough cleaning protocol.
      *    Complied with all the advice given to our industry by the Wales Tourism Alliance.
      *    Listened to and complied with the Welsh Government Guidance.

As a result of these measures we have achieved the We’re Good to Go industry standard mark. In other words, we have been able to demonstrate to Visit Britain and Visit Wales that we are adhering to Government and public health guidance, have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and we have the required processes in place.

All this will, however, mean that things are slightly different from usual, and we will be asking for your cooperation with a few things.

We will not be able to greet you as we would normally do but we will try to contact you when you arrive whilst ensuring that we maintain social distancing guidance. This is still 2 metres in Wales.

Cleaning will take extra time – we will now:
  • “Double clean” the properties – first our usual high level of cleaning, and then going over everything again with a virucidal sanitiser.
  • Ensure that soft furnishings etc are either removed or, disinfect items left in the properties.

This means that we need extra time for each changeover, so to give ourselves sufficient time to carry out these extra tasks thoroughly and efficiently we need to change arrival and departure times to 5pm arrival (rather than 2:30pm), our departure time will remain at 10am.. We understand it is inconvenient, but it is really important that you allow us this extra time to ensure your safety. Please help us by observing these times.

Additionally:
PPE – Don’t forget to pack your masks, disposable gloves, 80% alcohol hand sanitiser, anti-viral hand wipes, and disinfectant surface wipes.

Please open as many windows as possible - (if safe to do so) before you leave in order to ventilate the properties for us.

Please Strip your Beds before leaving – Not glamorous, on the last day of your holiday, we know.  We are advised that the main route of transmission of the virus is airborne, and that the process of removing bedding could make any viral particles that may have been present in bedding airborne. This is why we are advised to ask guests to strip the beds themselves. We will be providing plastic bags for you to put the bedding in. This will apply to all sheets, duvet covers, mattress protectors, pillow cases and pillow protectors.

Please empty all bins (including bathroom bins) and try to take everything away with you.

Some things may be missing – to reduce the risk of touch contamination, we have been advised to remove as much as possible from the cottages.  This means that decorative cushions and throws, ornaments, paper information leaflets, toys, games, etc have been kept to a minimum.

If you develop symptoms – we sincerely hope that you will have a happy and healthy holiday.  However, should a member of your party develop symptoms, the Government advice is to seek a test immediately and if found positive to return to your primary residence as soon as possible, and self-isolate there.  Please do let us know if you do develop symptoms, as the cleaning protocols for the rooms are different.

We hope that you will have a fabulous holiday.  The “new normal” may be slightly different than what we are all used to, but it is great to be able to get away again, and if we all take responsibility for minimising risk, then hopefully we won’t get locked down again!
